Thakeham partners with Stonewater to design and build 51 new affordable homes in Surrey

We are proud to confirm our first partnership with housing association Stonewater to build 51 affordable homes in the village of Smallfield in Surrey.

The development, located 2.5 miles from Gatwick Airport and the M23 motorway, will provide 26 affordable homes for rent (a mixture of 1 and 2-bed flats as well as 2 and 3-bed houses) and 25 shared ownership homes (2, 3 and 4-bed houses).

Building is scheduled to commence in January 2020 and last for 18 months.

Steve Tuhey, Group Business Development Director of Thakeham, said:

We are delighted to be working with Stonewater for the first time on this much-needed project to build affordable homes in Surrey.

Smallfield is a wonderful location and a perfect opportunity for sustainable home building. We can’t wait to enhance the community and generate more opportunities for people to live in beautiful new homes.

For Stonewater, Executive Director Jonathan Layzell said:

Together, Thakeham and Stonewater are working towards our vision of giving everyone the opportunity to have a place that they can call home.

Smallfield is a wonderful place to live and when new homes are being built it’s important that there are also affordable homes available for families that live or work in the local area. At Stonewater we’re excited to be building a mix of affordable rented homes and shared-ownership properties in Smallfield.
