Driving the conversation on the future of housebuilding in the UK
The future of housebuilding
The future of housebuilding in the UK is a widely discussed issue. With government targets set at increasing the number of homes built by 50% by 2020; the construction industry is at the forefront of change.
Thakeham exhibited at The Conservative Party Conference 2019 to ensure we were part of this conversation about the future of housebuilding in the UK.
We hosted a packed out fringe event with 50 delegates where our expert panel of speakers included our Managing Director Rob Boughton; Lucian Cook, Director of Residential Research at Savills; Cllr Robert Alden, Deputy Chair of LGA South Gloucester; and Toby Savage, Mayor of the West of England Combined Authority.
The discussion focused on the increased age of the average first time buyer and the lack of movement at the top of the market. Please click here to read more.
Build for the future
Robert Boughton, Group Managing Director comments:
“The Conservative Party Conference is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and celebrate Thakeham’s business growth. But, more importantly, we have a specific aim to discuss how we build for the future and the community-building issues that matter most to our Housing Association and local government partners.”
