Governance
We play a key role in the economic, social and environmental development of the south east. Several committees and groups represent the interests of our customers, industry, and local communities.
National House Building Council
We are registered with the National House Building Council (NHBC), the leading home warranty and insurance provider and standards-setter for UK housebuilding.
Through the NHBC we follow the Consumer Code for Home Builders. This industry-led scheme gives protection and rights to new home buyers.
Home Builders Federation
We’re members of the Home Builders Federation (HBF), the representative body of the home building industry in England and Wales.
Future Homes Hub
The Future Homes Hub facilitates collaboration within and beyond the homebuilding industry to help meet climate and environmental challenges.
Our Sustainability Director is an advisor to the Operational team, and our Chief Executive Officer sits on the delivery taskforce.
National Framework Partnership
National Framework Partnership (NFP) promotes procurement frameworks within the public sector. As a framework partner, our partners can be confident that we’re transparent in how we procure products and services.
Planet mark
Planet mark provides independent measurement and certification of our Carbon Neutral status.
Carbon reporting involves measuring and disclosing the amount of carbon emissions we produce.
Defence Employer Recognition Scheme
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for supporting the defence and armed forces community, and aligning values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
We’re one of only 193 organisations to be a gold status signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Obligations under Section 106 agreements
This is our legal agreement with local councils. A section 106 agreement is signed for every development we’re granted permission to build. These agreements set out our contributions to the support or expansion of local services and infrastructure.
Where we can’t deliver infrastructure ourselves within the development, the local authority will receive funding through the Section 106 agreement.
