Thakeham CEO shares passion for Zero Carbon Placemaking at this year’s virtual Liberal Democrat Conference

Thakeham CEO shares vision and passion for Zero Carbon Placemaking at this year’s virtual Liberal Democrat Conference.

Thakeham CEO, Rob Boughton, held an important Fringe Event discussing the need for change in the construction industry and how Thakeham’s drive to deliver zero carbon placemaking must lead the way for climate action within the sector.

Our CEO Rob Boughton was joined by Lord Oates (LibDem Spokesman on Climate Change and Energy), Aidan Van De Weyer (Deputy Leader of South Cambs and Candidate for Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough) and Anna Sabine (CX of MPC). +

Sharing Thakeham’s vision, Rob outlined Thakeham’s three pledges;

Every Thakeham home will be carbon neutral in construction by 2025
Every Thakeham home will be zero carbon in lifetime use by 2025
And across our sites, we will strive for at least a 20% biodiversity net gain by 2025

With Thakeham’s most recently completed site reaching an impressive 41.38% biodiversity net gain, it’s clear that these ambitious targets are fast becoming Thakeham’s reality.

‘At Thakeham, climate change is front and centre of our agenda. We want to be showcasing exemplar schemes of zero carbon placemaking; driving and inspiring real change across the development community, where the environment is at the heart of all design and build considerations.’
