Thakeham partners with Southern Housing to deliver a further 38 homes in addition to the homes at previous partnership site, Wings Nursery.
109 new affordable homes
We are very pleased to announce that we will be helping to deliver the first phase of 38 homes at Lees Yard, Woodgate. Our excitement is twofold as we help deliver this site with our continued partner, Southern Housing.
Lees Yard is situated very close to our previous development in partnership, Wings Nursery. It will deliver a further 38 homes, that when added to Wings Nursery will deliver 109 new affordable homes for the South East.
Patrick Duffy, Director Strategic Asset Management, said:
We were already very pleased to be working with Thakeham Partnerships on our second project together. The strength of our partnership has led to us being able to successfully acquire this adjoining development opportunity. The Southern and Thakeham teams will be able to make sure both phases start in 2022 and deliver over a hundred affordable homes for local people under the Group’s Strategic Partnership with Homes England.
We truly value the importance of community creation derived from quality partnerships. Partnerships is one of our three core pillars as a business, we share our expertise and in-house skills to deliver high quality developments alongside our partners, enhancing physical and social infrastructures. We can’t wait to see the outcome at Lees Yard with Southern Housing and create a brand-new, thriving community.
Rob Boughton, CEO, Thakeham said:
This is a strategically important site that will help to meet the significant need for affordable homes in the Arun area. We’re proud to be working with Southern Housing to help them boost affordable housing delivery in an area of high demand. I look forward to welcoming the residents of the completed homes to what I know will be a high quality development that represents the very best in sustainable infrastructure-led planning.
