Taking in the new community

Last month, the Thakeham Family took a full tour of Woodgate, taking in the village green, sales centres and showhomes. We all saw one of our home hubs and the new Woodgate Primary School, along with recently completed and future homes phases.

18 months ago we gave a guided tour to all employees to show the beginnings of the community. Despite the traditional rainy and blustering British weather, everyone had a fantastic time together and appreciated the opportunity to soak in the impressive progress made at Woodgate since then.

Celebrating our people

We take great pride in our quality and attention to detail, that’s why it was so important to us to take the time to show our employees the finished product of their hard work. The tours took roughly 2 hours per group with the intention of allowing everyone to see our placemaking principles and new homes design and build quality first hand.

Much needed networking

The tour allowed for a fantastic opportunity for colleagues from across the business to meet up again and for new colleagues to meet other people across the Thakeham Family, with catered refreshments.

We encouraged everybody from Thakeham, whether they are a regular visitor to the project or have never been before to take the time and opportunity of this event, so we could celebrate some new found freedoms, meet other members of the Thakeham Family, old and new, and see up close everything that Thakeham sets out to achieve on our developments.

Woodgate, Pease Pottage

The Woodgate development is a new countryside community located off Parish Lane to the south of Crawley, next to the village of Pease Pottage.

Woodgate includes 619 new homes, a £4 million Primary School, a shop and a café, a community centre, parks and a pavilion.

The development will also provide a new home for locally-based charity, St Catherine’s Hospice.
