Wellbeing
We deliver the infrastructure and dynamic flow to support the development of vibrant and connected communities. Our commitment to wellbeing goes beyond the delivery of high quality homes, providing access to inspiring green spaces and thriving local neighbourhoods.
Improving local biodiversity is directly linked to mental health improvements, so we prioritise this with at least 10% biodiversity gains at our developments.
In addition, Thakeham recognise the value of the voluntary sector in communities, supporting a network of charities and grassroots organisations across our area to deliver community services and support.
Case study: Woodgate community hub
The community hub we are building at Woodgate will be gifted to, and operated by, the local community. With support from our strategic charitable partner, the Plunkett Foundation.
Due to open in summer 2022, the hub will deliver a local shop and café, as well as a shared community meeting space. Part of a dynamic partnership with St Catherine’s Hospice, another long-term Thakeham charity partner.
