The department

The role will report directly to the Data & Business Intelligence Manager, working to ensure understanding and analysis of data and business information needs. The role sits within the IT department but will comprise of a large element of project based work, working alongside a number of other departments across the organisation. 

 

The role

 The successful candidate will; 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business objectives, processes, and requirements
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops to elicit and gather information
  • Analyse and document current business processes, systems, and workflows
  • Create detailed business requirements documents, use cases, and functional specifications
  • Analyse and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support decision-making
  • Work with stakeholders to design solutions that address business needs and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions align with technology capabilities 
  • Develop test plans and test cases to ensure that solutions meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams during the testing phase
  • Assist in the implementation of new processes, systems, or technologies
  • Provide support and training to end-users during the rollout of new solutions
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner

The required skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for evaluating complex business processes and data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and convey findings
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for data analysis, process modelling, and documentation
  • Proficient in PowerPlatform, Advanced MS Excel, Sharepoint, SQL, Dax, Powerquery 
  • Bridging the gap between the IT team and rest of the business 
  • Basic project management skills to coordinate tasks, timelines, and deliverables
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of stakeholders
