The department

The finance department provides support to all areas of the business, ensuring we deliver accurate, timely and relevant financial information. The focus of the department is to ensure the processing and timely payment of all suppliers. Due to our continued growth we are looking for an additional Purchase Ledger Clerk to work in a friendly team environment reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager.   

The role

We have 7 operating companies within Thakeham and the department is paperless. Invoices and statements are sent to emails for each operating company. 

 The role holder’s primary responsibility will be for ensuring the correct & timely processing of the following, within their supplies of responsibility. 

  •  Supplier’s invoices with a 3-way matching processes. Invoice received, matched to PO and Proof of delivery received from Site or manual approval from Site Managers
  • Statement reconciliation 
  • Queries; internal and external
  • Communicating with Buyers on PO queries, when necessary
  • Clearing Emails received with in the inboxes on a day assigned

 This list is not exhaustive. Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience. 

 

The required skills

  • Prior purchase ledger experience with working knowledge of Excel - essential 
  • Knowledge of Coins system - preferred 
  • Excellent attention to detail  
  • Good communication skills   
  • Significant relevant work experience 
  • Ability and willingness to help and solve issues 
  • Strong organisation skills 
  • Effectively and pro-actively manage their time  
  • Work within a strong team environment
