The Department

The regional finance department provides support to all areas of the business, ensuring we deliver accurate, timely and relevant financial information. The focus of the department is to ensure all of the regional financial reporting and day to day finance needs are met, these include areas such as budgetary control, cashflow management, project appraisal, project cost reviews and joint venture accounting.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Management Accountant to work in a newly created role reporting to the Regional Finance Director.

The role will also cover our Southern and Northern Home Counties region and will require travel to our Wokingham office and to construction sites.

 

The Job Role

The role holder’s primary responsibility will be

  • Ensuring the correct & timely production of the monthly regional reporting packs & forecasts, joint venture reporting, project cashflows and budgets
  • The review of accruals & journals including staff recharges posted by the assistant project accountant
  • The review of monthly project cost reporting produced by the assistant project accountant
  • Assisting in developing the assistant project accountant’s growth
  • Providing detailed commentary to budget/forecast variances to cash and profit forecasts for review by the regional finance director
  • The review of revenue transactions and associated costs of sales journals and adjusting profit % when required after review with the Finance Director
  • The further development of our regional finance reporting, using our COINS system where possible
  • Ensuring all forecasts are updated within our COINS system
  • Project based 12 week cashflows, and review with the assistant project accountant
  • Joint venture cash management and funding requests
  • All aspects of regional finance and assisting with all queries relating to regional finance across two regions
  • Joint venture financial modelling and reporting
  • The role holder will also be expected to get involved with all aspects of the finance department when required, we have team approach to everything we do.

This list is not exhaustive. Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience. 

 

The Required Skills

  • Preferred – ACCA/CIMA, knowledge of COINS
  • Essential – Previous employment within the construction industry, strong excel skills, full UK driver’s license
  • Significant relevant work experience in real estate development and partnerships
  • Excellent reconciliation skills
  • Ability and willingness to develop reporting and work with company growth
  • Effectively and pro-actively manage their time
  • Support other members of the team with their development
  • Work within a strong team environment
  • Ability to assess and analyse
  • Commercially astute
  • Understanding of a wide range of projects
  • Strong and demonstrable track record of interacting well with large range of stakeholders across the business
