Delighting delegates at the Conservative Party Conference
30th September 2019We are delighted to partner with JCB to deliver our most ambitious exhibition stand to date!
The stand debuted at this year’s Conservative Party Conference
Our ambitious new stand design, complete with JCB 19C-1E electric mini digger, is proving an excellent pull for conference delegates at this year’s Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. We are enjoying interesting conversations and debates and are delighted to share our vision towards shaping a better future for UK housing.
Conference delegates are taking on the challenge of operating a new JCB 19C-1E electric mini digger. Luckily Ben Gorton, one of the JCB’s brilliant apprentices is on hand to show delegates the ropes – as Baroness Vere of Norbiton, Transport Minister for Roads and Security states: “Respect to the operators – it’s not as easy as they make it look! #cpc19”
Visitors to our stand are challenged to operate the electric JCB digger in a fun competition to scoop out a blue brick from a ball pit.
Our Group Managing Director Rob Boughton says:
At last year’s Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham, hundreds of delegates joined us to accept our build a wall a challenge using real bricks and mortar. This year we knew we had to beat it. We have been secretly working with the team at JCB to produce this year’s Conference must-visit stand.
We are here to have fun. But focus on key issues like sustainability in construction. We hope that through building such an amazing interactive stand, we will prompt constructive discussions about UK housing issues.
The JCB 19C-1E is the construction industry’s first fully-electric mini excavator, enabling a full day’s work on a single charge with zero emissions at point of use.
JCB Director Philip Bouverat said:
This was an irresistible opportunity to partner with one of the UK’s fastest-growing home developers. Together we will build an unforgettable interactive experience at this year’s Conservative Party Conference.
Our industry is built on collaboration and we are delighted to be represented on the Thakeham stand and showcase our latest technology.
Our stand experience also features an exclusive opportunity for delegates to shape the content of next year’s “What’s Next for Housing Construction?” event. We are expecting over 300 public and private sector construction professionals will attend our annual event in January.
Delegates sharing opinions are being invited to request details on how to attend the “What’s Next for Housing Construction?” event in January 2020. Their insights will be shared with the five inspirational speakers who have been challenged to share fresh ideas and transform the future of housing.
At Thakeham, we focus on an infrastructure-led approach to improving communities throughout the South East and beyond. Whether delivering private residential or quality affordable homes, our place making legacy includes improved roads, community facilities and schools.
