Mission Motorsport Celebrates 4 Years27th December 2015
Mission Motorsport – Four years young and growing year on year! What a perfect day for a track day! Even better for those taking part in the celebrations of Mission Motorsports’ 4th Anniversary at the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit.
The sun shone down on an incredible array of cherished cars, from vintage vehicles to powerful supercars powering around the historic race track. But this is more than just a track day; the owners and drivers of this beautiful fleet of cars passenger some of our injured ex-servicemen and women as part of Mission Motorsports’ aim to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through Motorsport. Today’s event saw this in action and in style!
The Thrill of the Circuit
Many guys and girls from the forces had the opportunity to experience the thrill of the circuit under the expert guidance of those who have given their time, some were even lucky enough to take the wheel themselves and race through the famous circuit corners and chicane. Competition between the drivers was fierce and the camaraderie rife in the paddocks after each bout of racing. Today is proof that the charity’s sole aim and purpose, to re-build the lives of those who gave so much for our country, is clearly working.
Guests also had the chance to try out the infamous skid pan; not for the faint hearted but in the hands of the team, much fun was had by those who had the stomach for it.
This 4th Anniversary is testament to the whole of Missionmotor Sports’ team of veterans, serving officers and motorsport professionals who tirelessly run this amazing charity for those who have been affected by conflict. Long may their work continue and Thakeham are proud to be a part of the day and will continue to support wherever we can.
