It is the loudest and the wettest event of the year – The Annual St Catherine’s Hospice Dragon Boat Race. And following the success of last year’s event, the Thakeham Lions are back to take on the challenge.
This year’s race will take place on Sunday 10th September at Tilgate Park, Crawley, West Sussex.
Fundraising for a fantastic cause
We are thrilled to support the Hospice on such an exciting day. Last year’s event was a huge success – it was fun, it was competitive and most importantly, it is a great way to support such a worthy cause.
With running costs of over £17,000 a day, the Dragon Boat Race is all about raising much needed funds to enable St Catherine’s to carry on with its incredible work – to continue to provide care and support to local people at the most difficult time of their lives.

St Catherine’s Hospice
St Catherine’s Hospice are the leading provider of hospice care in Sussex and East Surrey, helping more than 2,000 terminally ill people, their family members, friends, and carers each year.
Their skilled teams are on hand to support people living with terminal illness in their homes, at the Day Hospice and on the wards. This new facility will allow the Hospice to do even more, to help more people and to provide an even better service.
