Thakeham is delighted to sponsor the Billingshurst Under 12s Youth Football team.

The team is playing incredibly well; they won the Horsham District League Division A competition and were runners-up in the final for the Plate, losing only in the penalty shootout. When you can boast 14 games played and just one lost, life’s good for this talented team of dedicated and enthusiastic Under 12s players.

Having recently won against Rudgwick and Storrington in six-a-side tournaments, the team were feeling confident leading up to the Henfield six-a-side tournament on Sunday 21st May. Showing strength and skill, they once again reached the finals – but it was not to be – they lost to Rustington, title holders for the last two years, in a long and exhausting game.

Positive Future

The team remains positive with Hurstpierpoint and Handcross Lower Beeding coming up over the coming weeks. The Billingshurst boys are selected from a small village team and are often competing against teams with far larger catchment areas for attracting players. As their sponsors, we are proud to see how hard they work and how well they support each other.

Thakeham supports several local sports clubs, recognising the value of sport to local communities. The Horsham & District Youth Football League values mirror our own; developing football skills are just part of it. The League is committed to the development of skills and sportsmanship in competition, and aims to promote self-discipline and physical fitness among club members of all ages.
