Festival fun for all the family!
Fast cars, thrilling entertainment, family fun and fascinating attractions could only mean the return of Goodwood’s Festival of Speed… and what a great success it was.
We were proud to sponsor the family area of the 2018 Festival of Speed. Right on the start line, with attractions for children and adults alike, the Thakeham Family area was a must-experience at the event!
Our first year sponsoring the family area saw the arrival of three diggers for the extremely popular Thakeham Treasure Hunt. Families were also entertained by the Pit Stop Pipe Drop and Big Cat Build. Mini builders, suited and booted in Thakeham high visibility vests and hard hats, dug for gold bricks, gave bricklaying a go and conquered the gutter maze at Pit Stop Pipe Drop.
Beautiful weather, impressive crowds and the friendly Thakeham team saw the area welcome guests from early ’til late. Families and friends had fun experiencing our wacky activities and even won some furry friends for their efforts!
Special mention goes to NJS Brickwork and Scaffolding and Briar Mechanical Services for volunteering fantastic teams and expertise. Their tireless support over the weekend enabled us to deliver fun for all ages – thank you to our extended Thakeham family!
Unforgettable start line action
There was plenty more entertainment on offer, including face painting, a ball pit , Formula Thakeham Tot Car Racing, meeting characters from the Wacky Races and viewing the start line action from the Family Grandstand. Families could also use the free creche facility.
The whole area buzzed with excitement and paired with the thrill of the start line, our prominent position at the festival ensured non-stop racing fun from start to finish.
Goodwood and Thakeham enjoy a wonderful relationship, sharing values of quality, heritage, legacy and teamwork at the heart of everything we do. The 2018 Thakeham Family Area is testament to that relationship and to the fantastic teamwork involved. We look forward to taking the crowds by surprise in 2019!
A huge thank you to our partners, friends and families that joined us over the festival weekend and to everyone that made such a success possible.
See you all in 2019!
