Thakeham celebrates with Topping Out Ceremony at Wey Court, Godalming

The Thakeham Group is proud to continue a long-standing tradition: The Topping Out ceremony. This week, it was time to celebrate at Wey Court in Godalming, Surrey.

Working in partnership

Thakeham Client is working with Waverley Borough Council to deliver 14 one bedroom and eight 2 bedroom flats and two 2 bedroom houses, all for affordable rent early 2018. The former brownfield site is an excellent opportunity to provide essential affordable housing.

Upholding Tradition

Thakeham traditionally holds a Topping Out ceremony for all projects, inviting as many of those involved as possible. Robert Boughton, Group Managing Director, takes the opportunity to say thank you to the team in person, while hosting brunch with hot soup, bacon and sausage sandwiches and teas and coffees.

A fading tradition, the Topping Out has been celebrated in construction for centuries. At Thakeham, we know the team appreciate the gesture and we appreciate the opportunity to say thank you.
