Thakeham Client to build 125 new homes in Portslade
25th October 2018South East developer Thakeham Client is to construct 125 new homes in Portslade – the largest contract awarded in Thakeham’s history.
The development on Graham Avenue in Portslade is a greenfield site close to the A27. Work on the first phase will begin in June 2019. The development will be completed in May 2022.
The project will focus on the affordable housing needs of the area with 22% of homes for rent and 78% for shared ownership.
In addition, the entrance to the roundabout on Fox Way will be widened and a new footway on Mile Oak Road has been proposed.
The contract has been awarded to Thakeham Client by Clarion Housing and has a contract value of £24 million pounds.
For Thakeham Client, managing director Steve Tuhey said: “This is the largest scheme that we have ever been awarded. We have already worked closely with Clarion on other developments in Elstead and Herstmonceux. Clarion is one of the largest housing providers in the country and we’re looking forward to working with them in Portslade over the next three years.”
