Thakeham is proud to kick off 2023 with the fantastic news that we are now a Planet Mark certified business.

Planet Mark, the internationally recognised sustainability certification body, has confirmed that Thakeham has been awarded carbon neutrality. This milestone was achieved a full 2 years ahead of its stated 2025 target date.​

Achieving carbon neutral status demonstrates Thakeham’s ongoing commitment to reducing its impact on the planet. Through continuous carbon reduction and investment in accredited carbon offsetting programmes to mitigate our carbon footprint, we’re proud to have achieved our ambitions ahead of schedule.

What does this certificate actually mean?

It’s a meaningful commitment that includes all of the carbon emissions from our business; our business travel, fuel used by​ us on construction sites and the energy used in our offices. All in line with internationally recognised PAS 2060 specifications.​

Planet Mark sustainability certification acknowledges continuous carbon neutrality progress and our encouragement of action. ​

Carbon offsetting

Alongside our Planet Mark certification, we are excited to share our new partnership with Ecologi. Through Ecologi, our carbon offsetting supports nature-based projects. Natural carbon stores must be protected if we are to slow climate change, and these projects should also help local communities to thrive.
