Thakeham headline sponsor St Catherine’s HeART to Heart
22nd July 2019Thakeham is delighted to announce its continued partnership with St Catherine’s Hospice as we headline sponsor the Charity’s latest campaign in a bid to raise funds for the delivery of a new hospice at Woodgate, Pease Pottage.
Heart to Heart launches
Early July saw the highly anticipated launch of St Catherine’s Heart to Heart campaign, bringing the community together and raising awareness of the fantastic work the hospice does within the local area.
Overnight, on 4th July 2019, spectacular heart sculptures appeared across the area St Catherine’s cover, all designed by local artists. The hearts form an art trail through beautiful Sussex and Surrey which participants can follow, gaining 4-digit codes at each heart to complete the trail.

A special partnership
With shared values of community and family, Thakeham has enjoyed a brilliant relationship with the Hospice, supporting their Dragon Boat Festival for four consecutive years and choosing the charity as a beneficiary of many of the other fundraisers that appear in Thakeham’s event calendar.
It is this celebrated partnership that led Thakeham to volunteer as the headline sponsor of this fantastic new campaign; to encourage the community to come together, alongside local businesses, and celebrate the work of the hospice.
Currently, St Catherine’s can only provide End of Life care to approximately 33% of the people that need it in Sussex and Surrey, a figure that will be drastically increased once a new hospice is built at Woodgate, Pease Pottage.
Impressive designs
Robert Boughton, Group Managing Director of Thakeham said, “We’re thrilled to be the headline sponsor for Heart to Heart, a fantastic, new event for our local area. We’ve been really impressed with the thoughtful, stunning designs created by local artists and we can’t wait to see them out on the streets. This exciting new project comes as we start work at Woodgate, a development which will include the new hospice for St Catherine’s. We’re really pleased to continue this special relationship with the hospice.”
