Thakeham offers unique spin on 35 new homes on the edge of Woking
30th May 201935 new homes near Woking
Thakeham has completed the construction of 35 new homes in a village near Woking.
In a break with many new developments, each individual plot at West End near Woking is completely unique. The development features a range of brick, cladding and tile finishes to complement the rural location.
Homes for affordable rent and shared ownership
The scheme, which is accessible from Kings Road and a short distance from the centre of West End, includes 14 affordable homes and 21 for private sale.
Clarion Housing, the UK’s largest social landlord owning 125,000 properties across the country, has acquired the affordable homes which are available for affordable rent and shared ownership.
Building at West End began in July 2017 and Thakeham are pleased to report the final homes were delivered to Clarion within the agreed timescales and budget. In addition, an unadopted road was re-laid at the end of the development; over and above the agreed scope of the work.
Our partnership
Stuart Fullwood, Business Development Director at Thakeham, said:
West End is a great example of how collaborative and innovative thinking can bring higher quality affordable homes to reality. We hope that the homes will help delight residents old and new.
This project forms one of a number of schemes currently being developed in partnership with Clarion. Other sites are located in Portslade, Littlehampton and Elstead.
Tina Jones, Development Manager for Clarion Housing, said:
At Clarion we have a long-term ambition of delivering 50,000 new homes but at the core of our plans is a desire to help those people across the country who are being let down by the market.
Working with developers like Thakeham, we exist to deliver good quality, well-designed affordable homes that will enable families to thrive – just like these homes in the village of West End.
