We are excited to reveal new plans for the family Area at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed
- Spider cranes to take centre stage in this year’s Thakeham Family Area
- Fun and games including plumbing-inspired fun, brick wall building, face painting, tot car racing and the ever-popular ball pit!
- Situated by the Festival of Speed Startline where all the action begins!
- The Wacky Racers are back too!
Goodwood Festival of Speed promises four days of thrilling entertainment and fun for the whole family. Last year, over 200,000 people visited the festival to enjoy The Hillclimb, the F1 Paddock, Style et Luxe and so much more. Very much part of the action, the Thakeham Family Area experience has been designed with families in mind and enjoys a prime position by the Startline.
This year, we are delighted to bring new activities to the Family Area. Our biggest new challenge features giant Thakeham Spider Cranes! Last year’s favourites will be there too: face painting; tot car racing, treasure hunting (with real diggers!) and the mini builders’ bricklaying Big Cat Build. And, festival favourites, the Wacky Racers will be back as well.
We offer the perfect spot from to enjoy the action while taking a break with the family. Overlooking the Startline, the Family Viewing area provides a great view, along with ear defenders to protect little ears! There is a big screen and covered seating from which to enjoy the action, family friendly food including ice creams, and you can pick up an exclusive Thakeham buggy, which is the perfect solution for little ones with tired legs. Arrive early to avoid disappointment!
Rob Boughton, our group managing director, says:
Last year was a wonderful Goodwood Festival of Speed for Thakeham. We felt the Thakeham Family Area offered something a little different and we are delighted so many festival attendees visited and enjoyed the team’s hospitality. We want this year to be even more memorable – so we have added cranes! We look forward to welcoming you to the Thakeham Family Area at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019.
