Biodiversitynet gain& nature recovery

Halting biodiversity loss, providing resilient habitats, and educating young people about wildlife.

A young person with long hair, wearing a pink shirt and black pants, crouches in a grassy area with clusters of pink flowers. They appear to be examining or picking one of the flowers. The background features more green grass and additional pink blossoms, creating a vibrant natural setting.

Places forpeople & wildlife

We want a world where seeing a hedgehog is an everyday experience. We believe that developments should provide accessible natural areas close to people’s homes, designed to complement the wider local landscape and linking up large, nature-rich open spaces with a network of green and blue corridors.

Community green spaces can bring people together; and local parks and woods are valuable places for people to walk, play and unwind.

Recordbiodiversity net gainfigures in Surrey

A post-completion survey by Surrey Wildlife Trust confirmed that our Martingales development in Bookham achieved a 41.38% biodiversity net gain. The 25-home community includes wildflower meadows, new hedgerows, marsh grassland, and custom habitats for birds, bats, and hedgehogs, helping to significantly boost local nature.

Built around the layout of a traditional farmstead, the project pairs ecological enhancements with a strong sense of place. The independently verified results highlight our practical leadership in restoring biodiversity through thoughtful design.

A grassy field with scattered wildflowers and tall grasses, a narrow stream or path running through the centre, and a house with a dark roof partially obscured by leafy trees in the background. The sky is mostly clear with a few clouds, suggesting a bright, sunny day.
