Natural light casts soft shadows across the rooftops and streets, creating a calm, orderly atmosphere.

We have completed work at the fully affordable Sturt Farm development in Haslemere, Surrey, handing the scheme over to Stonewater, one of the UK’s largest providers of affordable housing.

Sturt Farm is a collection of 132 new one and two-bedroom flats and two, three and four-bedroom houses. 79 of the homes are accessible to the local community via social rent, with 44 available as shared ownership and nine obtainable under the rent-to-own model.

Solar panels have been installed at 120 of the homes at Sturt Farm, while each property also has a dedicated parking space, electric vehicle charging point and private garden. As well as the homes, the development also includes a communal amenity space, dedicated woodland area, landscaping and children’s play area.

Modern residential buildings with dark façades, red roofs, and white-framed windows, one featuring rooftop solar panels. In the foreground, a parked car, grass verge, and small trees line the street, while construction barriers and decorative panels suggest ongoing development. A clear sky with light clouds completes the scene.

Our Partnerships Director, Stuart Fullwood commented: “Handing over Sturt Farm to Stonewater, an organisation that shares our vision of providing much-needed housing for local communities, is an important milestone. The successful delivery of this 100% affordable housing scheme reflects our commitment to helping solve the housing crisis across the south of the country by unlocking opportunities for first-time buyers struggling to secure their first home and addressing the high level of housing need that exists in Haslemere for rented homes. The development’s additional features also make it an ideal location for local families looking to get on the housing ladder.”

Marie Riordan, Director of Development at Stonewater, added: “We are delighted to have again partnered with Thakeham to deliver these much-needed affordable homes for the community. At Stonewater, we are dedicated to addressing the housing crisis to ensure everybody has the opportunity to have a place they can call home. Sturt Farm will be a place families can lay roots while enjoying additional features that will bring the community together. We look forward to welcoming customers into their new homes as soon as possible.”

Sturt Farm is one of five schemes that we partnered with Stonewater to deliver. Our joint portfolio of developments also includes Berry Croft in Newick and Bishops Lane in Ringmer.
