Final handovers at Loxwood Fields in Alfold
We have completed work at the fully affordable Loxwood Fields development in Alfold, Surrey, handing the scheme over to the Abri.

We built 99 new homes ranging from 1 to 4-bedroom options, all designated as affordable homes for rent, and shared ownership. The site is fully affordable thanks to Abri’s own funding and grant funding for 85 of the 99 homes from its strategic partnership with Homes England, the government’s housing and delivery agency. To support local wildlife, bird boxes, bat boxes, and ‘insect hotels’ were incorporated into the design, creating new wildlife corridors and promoting biodiversity.
The site was built using modern construction methods and we successfully completed our first ever crane roof lift there, exploring the time and cost-saving implications of building the frame of the house and the roof simultaneously. The scheme was successful in winning multiple LABC Bricks awards for quality and site management which went towards being highly commended in the Bricks Social Housing Development of the Year (over 51 units) South from LABC Warranty earlier this year.
Dan Cornelius, our Partnerships Director, commented: “Handing over Loxwood Fields to Abri Group, an organisation that shares our vision of providing much-needed housing for local communities, is an important milestone.”
Nicola O’Rourke, Director of Development (Programme Delivery) at Abri, commented: “Loxwood Fields is a great example of what can be achieved through strong partnerships. At Abri, we’re committed to building 10,000 homes by 2030, and working with organisations like Thakeham helps us deliver high-quality, affordable homes that meet the needs of local communities."
"Together, we’re not just building homes, we’re helping create sustainable communities for the future.”
Loxwood Fields is one of four schemes that we have partnered to deliver with Abri. Our joint portfolio of developments also includes Woodgate in Pease Pottage, Manorwood in West Horsley and, most recently, Land to the West of the Causeway in Petersfield.
