A row of two modern detached houses in a suburban setting, both with red-tiled roofs and white upper walls. The house on the left features rooftop solar panels, while the house on the right includes a small first-floor balcony with glass railings. Each home has a brick-clad ground floor, large windows, and landscaped front gardens with shrubs and young trees. A paved footpath runs in front, bordered by grass and framed by clear blue skies. The scene suggests an eco-conscious, family-friendly neighbourhood.

We partner with housing associations and local authorities to deliver much needed retirement communities across the south east. Using a policy-compliant, tenure-blind level of housing provision. We build to the same high-quality and external finish as our private homes.

What areretirement communities?

A retirement community is a place designed for people later in life who want to live independently, with help close by if needed. These homes are made with comfort, safety, and ease in mind. Often they have step-free access, lifts, and energy-efficient features.

Living in a retirement community means being part of a friendly neighbourhood with others at a similar stage of life. Many have shared spaces like gardens, lounges, or cafés, and offer optional care or support services if and when you need them.

It’s all about having the right home, in the right place, for this next chapter of life.

A spacious, sunlit communal room with wooden floors and large curtained windows. The space features clusters of wooden tables surrounded by green and grey upholstered chairs, arranged to encourage social interaction. Framed artwork, table lamps, and soft natural lighting create a warm, inviting atmosphere suggestive of a residential lounge or community centre.

Grants Hill House,Uckfield

Grants Hill House was originally a Local Authority-owned housing scheme, which was no longer fit for purpose and therefore proposed for redevelopment. The scheme featured 65 apartments and two cottages for social rent.

The project followed Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) Design principles. It considers housing that offers an attractive alternative to the family home, and the ability to adapt over time to meet changing needs.
