£4,785 raised for St Catherine's Hospice
The total includes proceeds from a staff sale of show home furniture at Woodgate, alongside individual fundraising efforts ahead of the London Marathon.

We were delighted to hand over a cheque for £4,785 to our charity partner, St Catherine’s Hospice, this week.
The fundraising effort saw us offer furniture, decorations and dressings from our showhomes for sale to staff, with all proceeds, totalling £1,718, donated to St Catherine’s.
Our Sales Director, Emma Chamberlain said, “Our show homes are dressed to give prospective buyers an impression of what it might be like to live in our homes.”
“Now all the homes at Woodgate, Pease Pottage, are sold, some of the furnishings and decorations are no longer needed, and thanks to this initiative they will continue to be enjoyed, with the proceeds going to a very worthy cause.”

In addition to the show home furniture sale, our Head of Design, Anthony Henriques, has been individually raising funds ahead of running the London Marathon at the weekend in aid of the hospice. He has raised £3,067, holding bake sales and other initiatives for colleagues to donate to. This takes the total so far raised for St Catherine’s this year by Thakeham staff to £4,785 and counting.
Woodgate has a £1.5m Community Hub alongside a charity-run café which we gifted to St Catherine’s Hospice for a £1 peppercorn rent and all profits go towards supporting the charity.

St Catherine’s Strategic Partnerships Manager, Nina Gopal said, “Our vital services for people in the local community would simply not be possible without key partners like Thakeham. We are incredibly grateful for their extraordinary ongoing support.”
The hospice provides specialist end of life care and support to people and their families across West Sussex and East Surrey. Every year, the hospice cares for around 2,000 people living with a terminal or life-limiting illness on its hospice wards and out in the community. Following our long-term partnership with St Catherine's, the charity leases the café in the gifted Woodgate Hub building to JO.CO Café to generate income, as well as managing the building and its large community meeting space.
