Celebrating three wins at the WhatHouse? awards
We’re proud to win Gold for Placemaking and two Bronze awards at the WhatHouse? awards, celebrating community, design, and sustainability.

We’re delighted to share that we scooped three awards at the 2025 WhatHouse? event. It’s a fantastic recognition of the work we’ve done this year to create homes and communities that truly make a difference.
Our Woodgate development near Pease Pottage, West Sussex, won Gold for Best Placemaking. This award means so much to us because it celebrates the long-lasting community benefits we’ve built into the scheme. Woodgate is a contemporary village of 619 energy-efficient homes, created in partnership with Abri, one of the UK’s largest affordable housing providers. The judges praised our innovative approach to placemaking and long-term stewardship. They highlighted how we worked with Plunkett UK to empower residents to open and run a community-owned shop as part of a hub that includes a café and meeting rooms. For us, it’s never just about building homes, it’s about creating thriving communities.
We also picked up Bronze for Best Interior Design. The judges loved how our interiors combine modern style with nostalgic touches to create a warm, inviting space. They even noted that the first visitors to the showhouse bought everything on display! Camilla, our designer, sourced pieces from high street brands like OKA and Next, proving that great design can be both stylish and accessible.

Finally, we were awarded Bronze for Best Energy Efficient Home for the Hickstead at Templegate in Burgess Hill, delivered with the Aster Group. This home guarantees zero energy bills for at least five years thanks to low-carbon technology and renewables like PV panels, air-source heat pumps, and batteries. Some homeowners have even reported generating more energy than they use, which is a huge step forward for sustainable living.
These wins are part of a bigger story. Throughout 2025, we’ve been recognised across the industry:
Woodgate also won Best Housing Scheme (500+ homes) and the coveted Editor’s Choice Award at the Planning Awards.
Together with the Hyde Group, we picked up The Bricks Social Housing Development of the Year (South) from LABC Warranty and were highly commended for Loxwood Fields.
We were named Best Medium Housebuilder and Zero Bills Housebuilder of the Year at Octopus Energy’s inaugural Zero Bills Awards.
Ledian Gardens and The Bindery (Petworth) earned Bronze Site awards at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Awards.
For the second year running, we were named Outstanding Housebuilder by the National Federation of Builders.
Welborne was recognised in the Homebuilder Safety Awards, taking runner-up in the Medium Builder Site category.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved this year and even more proud of the communities we’ve helped create. These awards reflects our shared passion and commitment with our partners. Together, we’ll keep pushing boundaries in housebuilding, sustainability, and placemaking.
