Chosen to build affordable homes near Chichester
We exchanged contracts with Southern Housing Group to build 55 new affordable homes near Chichester. The contract represents our first land-led development with Southern Housing Group.
Building will begin on the site in Autumn 2020 with work due for completion by the end of 2021.
A need for affordable housing
Steve Tuhey, Business Development Director at Thakeham said:
This is a strategically important site that will help to meet the significant need for affordable homes in the Arun area. We’re delighted to be working with Southern Housing Group to help them boost housing provision, and provide for local needs within Aldingbourne Parish, for many years to come.
The development will represent the very best in sustainable infrastructure-led planning. It includes plans to prioritise pedestrian and cyclist movements whilst controlling vehicle speeds. And with families in mind, it will meet the needs of all ages and groups within the local area.

Oliver Boundy, Southern Housing Group’s Executive Director of Development & Growth said:
We are proud of our investment in new homes in West Sussex, and looking forward to working closely with Thakeham to create new, high-quality affordable homes in an area where these are in desperately short supply supported by our strategic partnership with Homes England.
