Planning granted for 50 new homes in Loxwood
Chichester District Council Planning Committee has approved planning permission for Thakeham Homes to build sustainable homes in Loxwood.
The new development at land off Pond Copse Lane in Loxwood features 50 new homes, 30% of which are affordable.
Thakeham Chief Executive Officer, Rob Boughton said: “This planning approval will help to ease the pressure on first time buyers and key workers seeking quality affordable homes in the area. Thakeham continues to address the desperate need for affordable homes in the South East.”
“The new community in Loxwood demonstrates our commitment to work with local authorities to deliver sustainable new homes for the future, without compromising on affordable housing.”
The approved plans include green space for families to enjoy. A focus on biodiversity sees wildlife-friendly features have integrated into buildings including bird boxes, bat boxes and ‘insect hotels.’ New wildlife corridors have been integrated throughout the new community. Thakeham’s proposals reveal how the development reduces its carbon dioxide emissions by 37%. This responds to the Chichester Climate Emergency declaration and reaffirms Thakeham’s pledge to be carbon-neutral by 2025.
