First homebuilder to adopt Communications Charter
Thakeham Group has become the first home developer in the UK to become a member of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).
The PRCA exists to uphold the highest standards in the public relations and communications industry. All members are automatically subscribed to the Codes of Conduct and Professional Charter. Upholding the rules and standards set out are a continuous condition of membership to the PRCA.
The charter includes guidelines for communication professionals on matters including truth, transparency, accuracy and diversity. Publicly adopting and adhering to the professional charter was a key motivation for Thakeham to join the PRCA.
For Thakeham Group Rob Boughton said: “The PRCA professional charter is a public declaration of communication values. These values are closest to the high standards of transparency and truth that we already expect our staff to follow.
“As a community creator we engage with a wide variety of stakeholders from those in public office, residents, home buyers and the media. Whoever we speak to, we communicate with the same high level of integrity and honesty.
“That is why we are proud to become members of the PRCA. We hope that the whole Thakeham family will embrace the opportunity to be inspired by closer links with the professional communications community.”
PRCA Director General Francis Ingham MPRCA, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome the entire team at Thakeham to the PRCA family. The importance of upholding and enforcing the highest standards of ethical practice has never been more apparent than now, and it’s great to see this being a key motivating factor for Thakeham becoming PRCA members. I look forward to seeing their communications team take advantage of our training and networking offering.”
