We were proud to sponsor the Family Area at Goodwood Festival of Speed for our third year… and what great fun it was! Fueled by the family fun-filled environment, we were thrilled to see so many smiling faces, come rain or shine. Four days of fast cars, family fun, delicious food and laughter all around was certainly what everyone needed.

The Thakeham Family Area is always a popular attraction at Goodwood, we had activities for everyone. From the crowd favourite, ‘Thakeham Treasure Hunt’ where you can operate a full sized digger, to the intricate ‘Pedal Paddock’ Scalextric Hill Climb, where the fastest tops the leaderboard! Being positioned right next to the start line created an electric environment, where no one missed out on the action.

Action-packed fun

There was a wide variety of entertainment on offer, including free face painting, ‘Big Cat Build’ brick laying, ‘Fast car Frenzy’ tot car track, ‘Ready Steady Build’ timed foam house build, a ball pit and the much-loved Wacky Racers!

Families could also come and take advantage of the Thakeham Trolleys, allowing their little ones to get in the shade and enjoy the ride throughout the festival!

Mission Motorsport

We feel extremely proud and honoured to be able to gift Mission Motorsport 480 tickets this year, giving their beneficiaries a day to remember. Our ticket donation is our way to share some fun at Goodwood Festival of Speed with them, the free tickets have meant in recent years that 300 beneficiaries have had a memorable day out with their family on us.

We were also excited to welcome Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity for bereaved British Forces children. It was a valuable moment for us to see them having fun in our Family Area.

A note from the Thakeham Family

Greeted with friendly faces from the Thakeham Team, it was heartwarming for us to see all of our efforts be enjoyed by so many. The carefully curated family area radiated with pure, childlike joy.

Events Research Programme

This year’s event formed as part of the ERP (Events Research Programme) as a pilot event, allowing the Festival to go ahead in as normal a manner as possible. The ERP incorporates research studies to build evidence on Covid-19 transmission risk, by examining the characteristics of these events, and the most effective steps for reducing the risks.
