Falling in love with a home in Surrey

After putting her large family home on the market, Lesley set out to find a more manageable property and fell in love with her new home at Halstead Lanes, Woking.

After putting her large family home on the market, Lesley set out to find a more manageable property while staying in the same area of Woking which she knew and loved. But one thing she didn’t want was a house which needed a lot of work having previously renovated the family house where she had lived for 42 years.

A new home would be ideal, so Lesley decided to visit local developments on a Monday afternoon when she thought the show homes might be quieter. It was then that she discovered the outstanding new homes at Halstead Lanes by Thakeham, where she met Sales Consultant, Janey in the Marketing Suite.

After listening to Lesley’s requirements, Janey showed her one of the stylish 2 bedroom homes but Lesley was already captivated by the show house.

“I just fell in love with it, as soon as I walked in, I just felt comfortable. It was so nice and light. I asked my brother to come and look round as he’s a builder and he agreed that it was beautifully finished and that I should go for it”

Lesley reserved the show home and in the same week, accepted an offer on her own house so it was ‘all systems go’.

“Everything just clicked into place.”

Lesley chose the 3 bedroom detached house with its large, open plan kitchen and a master bedroom with the benefit of an ensuite shower room with walk-in shower.

“I do love all the windows, especially in the double aspect rooms. The house has a Scandinavian feel, it’s so light and bright, and there’s a bonus of a massive loft.”

“Just before I moved in, I was shown around in what Thakeham calls ‘The Hug’, where they explained how everything works. It was a lovely touch because moving home is a big step. Thakeham also gave me a very nice welcome pack with champagne and a whole host of local products. All the little details have been thought through and everybody has been so helpful, from Janey to the Site Manager, Lee.

The whole development at Halstead Lanes is very pretty, even the way all the houses have been laid out has been carefully considered.

The neighbours are all very friendly and the area is familiar to me which makes life easy. Everything is very so convenient and it’s fantastic for the M3, Heathrow, and Marks & Spencers at Camberley. It’s been a busy few years but now I feel that I’ve really come home.”
