£5,000 raised for Youth Adventure Trust
The Housebuilder Challenge 2022
Thakeham decided to take on the Peak District Challenge to help raise money for the Youth Adventure Trust. 25 Housebuilders have stepped forward to take on the challenge to make a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Our team of 6 brave colleagues stepped up to the challenge, setting off on a 22-mile hike from Castleton at 5:30 am. The Journey continued across the Pennine Way over a vast range of terrain covering 4,900 Ft of elevation across the three highest peaks of the Peak District.
After a hard day of trekking through mountain pathways, steep hillsides and dales, the team closed in on Torisde where they finished in just under 10 hours.
Fundraising
We raised a total of £5,552 which placed us as the #1 fundraiser on the awards ceremony later that evening.
So far, the house builder challenge has raised an outstanding £118,000, enough to fund 96 young people for one year in their life-changing programme.
The Youth Adventure Trust
The organisations goal is to help 11-15 year olds to face challenges in their personal lives and reach their full potential. This is done by providing young people with support over 3 academic years to boost confidence, build new skills and give outdoor adventure experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.
