Thakeham uses April Fools to Launch Biodiversity Principles
Today we took to our social media to tell the world that from today, we are building homes for hedgehogs – not humans!
Thank you to everyone who had fun with our April Fool and ‘new logo’. As many realised, we aren’t in fact only building homes for hedgehogs, or changing our identity to a hedgehog. But, if we ever chose another iconic animal to represent our business, our prickly friend would be a serious contender!
The Launch of Thakeham’s Biodiversity Principles
We used our April Fool to make a serious point.
At Thakeham, we have a vision for wilder places. We want to create places where nature can thrive, and people feel a strong connection with their surroundings.
Well-crafted new developments can be part of the solution to local biodiversity and nature recovery needs, not the barrier. We understand nature is more complex than Biodiversity Net Gain, so we will launch our Biodiversity Principles to go beyond the government target, to achieve our vision for wilder places.
As part of this campaign, we will be working with leading wildlife and nature-based organisations, creating the ‘go-to’ guide to nature-rich placemaking for the construction industry.
In due course we will be showcasing our progress – keep an eye on our social media platforms (@thakeham) to stay up to date!
