Thakeham are sponsoring the Family Area at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The iconic Festival of Speed is returning to Goodwood’s 12,000-acre estate, bringing with it all the cars, entertainment and family fun that we have been missing. Four days of the world’s greatest celebration of motorsport, is definitely something for the whole family to look forward to.

Since 2018, Thakeham have sponsored the family area, providing entertainment for children and offering respite for parents! With over 200,000 visitors expected, this year’s festival is sure to be one to remember. Thakeham is proud to be involved in creating these special memories.

You can jump in the ball pit, meet the Wacky Racers, try your hand at bricklaying, operate a CAT excavator and much more.

A family favourite

The extremely popular Thakeham Treasure Hunt will return, offering your ‘little builders’ the chance to operate one of three full-size diggers.
This year, aligned with our industry-leading zero-carbon climate commitments, they are fully electric.

Jump on the Saddle

At Thakeham’s New ‘Pedal Paddock’, visitors can ‘spin to win’ – powering Scalextric cars with their legs. The faster you pedal, the quicker you drive!

As well as their popular Goodwood Revival racetrack, our friends at The Racing Room will be unveiling a pedal-powered Top Gear style time-trial: A custom-built replica of the famous Goodwood Hill Climb!

Here to provide the family fun experience

Family favourites such as face painting and tot-car racing will be returning, with Thakeham ambassadors and staff at each activity.

Just look for the black polo shirts, there to ensure each and every visitor (big or small!) enjoys every moment of this special event.

Pit stop

If just the thought of pedaling is tiring you out, come and relax on the deck chairs and bean bags by the big-screen TV.

The Thakeham family area is a much-needed rest stop for tired families who need a seat, some shade and some food. We have a large covered dining area, a choice of top-quality caterers and an ice-cream truck at the ready.

Starting line luxury

Thakeham’s Family Area is right next to the Goodwood start line, so the petrol-head parents don’t have to miss a thing! As each spinning tyre crosses that famous line of bricks, you and your family can be right next to the action.

We even have ear defenders for the little ones!
