The Thakeham Partnerships Team was delighted to secure this site for MHS Homes, marking the start of an exciting new partnership. This is one of the largest contracts to date awarded by MHS Homes, redeveloping a brownfield site in Lenham, Kent.
On-site challenges caused by third-party high voltage cables, were mitigated by a dynamic resequencing of the build schedule. Thakeham arranged for the dropping and placing of underground high voltage electric cables. Part of these works involved routing these cables underneath a main railway line. The site also had challenges regarding foul drainage, the nearest point of connection being over 1km away from the site.
Despite these difficulties, the site remains on-schedule and was awarded a Considerate Constructors score of 40.
Across all our projects, it’s of upmost importance to Thakeham that the community comes first, at all stages of the build.
Meaningful Partnerships
Thakeham and MHS Homes enjoy a successful partnership delivering quality product across all the projects we undertake together. The site at Lenham is being built in 2 phases, consisting of 72 units for phase 1, and 50 units for phase 2. One of Thakeham’s key core values is Partnership and ensuring we deliver for our partners and build long-lasting, meaningful relationships is very important to us.
