New Impact report highlights sustainability achievements

We’re proud to release our Impact Report, celebrating the company’s unwavering commitment to climate action, going beyond biodiversity net gain and bringing social value. The report reveals our sustainability achievements from the past four years and shares how the company is going beyond traditional housebuilding to create vibrant, sustainable communities.

In our first-ever Impact Report, we’re disclosing the progress we’ve made since launching its sustainability strategy in 2020 and reinforces its commitment to driving positive change within the housebuilding industry. From delivering its first net zero carbon homes to reducing its own footprint by 43% on construction sites, we hope by setting a leading example it will encourage other housebuilders and developers to follow suit.

Our recent partnership with Octopus Energy delivers Zero Bills homes where possible in our land portfolio of over 45,000 homes, which includes several entirely new towns and villages that are envisaged to be net zero carbon communities.

Each development consistently exceed the government’s biodiversity net gain targets, with the company achieving an average of 15.47% biodiversity net gain across all planning applications since 2020. Furthermore, we’ve has gone beyond legislation in our pledge to install nest bricks for cavity-nesting birds in all new projects from 2024.

Through our work with schools, local communities and long-term charitable partners, we generated over £950,000 in donations and supported over 18,900 hours of apprenticeship time. This commitment to social value is one of the reasons the company featured in the Top 10 Best Construction & Engineering Companies to work for in the UK in 2023.
