The Thakeham Partnerships team will begin building 71 new affordable homes in West Sussex, for Southern Housing Group. The development will deliver 100% affordable housing, consisting of a mixture of rented and shared ownership homes. Work on the site, formerly Wings Nursery off Lidsey Road, has begun with a completion date of September 2023.

    The Thakeham Partnerships team secured a JCT Design and Build contract for this site in Ashford, Kent with Man Group Ltd. The development is located to the east side of Ashford in Chilmington, part of a 6000-homes strategic development.

    This brand new development will form part of a vibrant community, offering its very own high street, secondary school, four primary schools and open green spaces. The scheme will be built in two phases, comprising of 93 apartments and 132 houses.

    As always it will deliver exceptional quality of build and finish, complimenting the award-winning garden city of Chilmington. The homes will range from two and three bedroom apartments and two to five bedroom houses.

    Tenures will range from private sale, private rented, shared ownership sale and affordable rented homes. In fact, 85% of the development will provide affordable homes for Ashford, including Key Worker and Shared Ownership schemes.

    On time, On budget

    Addressing the urgency of the housing crisis, Thakeham began on site in March 2022, with a fast paced 25 month contract period in which to deliver all 225 homes.

      PARTNER: Monson Homes

      The Thakeham Partnerships team were awarded this £9.2M contract after a competitive tender process, beating 10 other contractors to win the project.

      This exciting development with new partner Monson Homes will provide 49 new homes in Horsmonden, Kent. The site is located on the Western outskirts of the village, approximately seven miles east of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

      The scheme includes a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes. A mix of tenures will be available for the properties, comprising of shared ownership and affordable rent. Work began onsite in August 2021, with completion expected in the final quarter of 2022.

      The build will feature an extensive range of high quality external features and materials, including brickwork, stained timber cladding, painted timber cladding, render, hanging tile, stone cills, hardwood front doors, external brick chimneys, dovecotes and Juliet balconies.

        PARTNER: Stonewater

        Thakeham has commenced construction on 132 homes for Stonewater in Haslemere, Surrey.

        The project will consist of 79 homes for social rent, 44 for shared ownership and nine properties for rent-to-own, with completion due for Spring 2023.

        As part of the new community Thakeham will be delivering communal amenity space, a dedicated woodland area, landscaping and a children’s play space making this an ideal location for families.

        This new development is one of three projects we have completed or are on site building for Stonewater. Together with Stonewater, Thakeham are in the process of delivering 232 affordable new homes in the South East.

          Thakeham is delighted to have been awarded the contract to build 74 affordable homes for Optivo Housing Association in Newhaven, East Sussex. Thakeham previously worked with Optivo to create 40 affordable homes in Ticehurst, East Sussex.

          The £12.1 Million development will include a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments for affordable rent built at Clifton Road in Newhaven. The ground floor will feature commercial space.

          The build will feature piled foundations, a concrete frame with a brick façade.

          On Site

          Work started on site in March 21 and will last 21 months.
